Choosing a career today requires vision, information, and courage.

This was said on Friday by Palesa Ntlhakana, Head brand marketing at Standard Lesotho Bank. She was speaking during the last day of the 16th Annual Standard Lesotho Bank Career Expo.

Ntlhakana said education sits at the heart of the bank’s long time commitment to Lesotho.

She said the final day was just not about showcasing careers but guiding one’s choices that will help shape thefuture of the country.

Ntlhakana reminded the students that they were preparing for a world that is very different from the one their parents entered.

“Technology is shaping the industry, new skills are emerging, and some jobs are disappearing while entirely new careers are being created.

“A career expo exists to help you look beyond on what’s familiar and to start thinking about futurist careers that will matter for Lesotho’s economy in the years to come,” she noted.

The career expo, which started in Mokhotlong on Monday and ended in Maseru, was aimed at empowering young people to choose their career paths and transition into tertiary education.
