The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will on Friday hold elections for 10 Electoral Divisions (EDs) that were left behind during the September 30, 2023 elections.

The commission was forced to hold fresh by-elections as well as run-offs for EDs whose candidates died before elections date, for candidates who had tied votes, and for a councillor who died after being elected.

IEC logistics manager, ‘Manepo Letsapo said the ballot paper arrived in the country on November 30 and was kept safely at the commission’s warehouse.

She noted that from today, the ballot paper will be distributed to the districts except for Maseru Municipal Council (MMC 08) where it will be taken a day before by-elections.
