Lesotho will host the 15th Southern Africa Association for Educational Assessment (SAAEA) Conference from 15 to 18 June 2026, the Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECoL) has announced.
The four-day regional gathering will be held in Maseru under the theme “Advancing Responsive Educational Assessments for Diverse Learners’ Needs in the Digital Era.”
SAAEA brings together 11 member organisationsfrom nine Southern African countries to share best practices in educational assessment and research. It provides a platform for assessment professionals and scholars to benchmark and exchange knowledge on current and emerging practices.
“Hosting the SAAEA Conference presents a valuable opportunity for Lesotho to engage with regional and international experts on advancing educational assessment,” said Dr. MokhitliKhoabane, Chief Executive Officer of ECoL, this week.
“As we navigate the digital era, it is essential that our assessment systems remain inclusive, credible, and responsive to the diverse needs of learners. This conference will contribute significantly to strengthening assessment practices both locally and across the region,” he noted.
