Prime Minister Sam Matekane has reaffirmed Lesotho’s commitment to the national reform agenda.

He made this commitment at the 7th African Union–European Union (AU–EU) Summit in Angola this week.

Matekane also told the summit that there was need for deeper regional collaboration in peace and security, economic integration, climate resilience, youth development, and good governance.

He noted that the Summit is of particular significance as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the AU–EU Partnership, marking a milestone in Africa–Europe cooperation.

The meeting was aimed at advancing Africa’s shared strategic priorities and to ensure that longstanding commitments translate into meaningful, measurable outcomes.

Matekane further advanced Lesotho’s national and developmental interests, with a particular focus on securing concrete support for the country’s green transition, including the Metsi a Lesotho and Renewable Lesotho initiatives, implemented under the EU’s Global Gateway Investment Package.
