The Ministry of Law and Justice will this week host a two-day national transitional justice conference, aimed at fostering constructive dialogue among various stakeholders in the country.

Participants are expected to explore pathways for peace, unity, truth, justice, accountability, reconciliation, and national healing.

The conference seeks to identify factors that account for Lesotho’s violent conflicts and explore possible solutions to address the negative culture or perennial conflicts among citizens.

It also intends to draw lessons or transactional justice mechanisms from other countries.

“The conference will also identify key elements of Lesotho’s transactional justice framework, which are tailored to it’s political, cultural and historical context,” the ministry said in a statement.
