The World Bank has announced the appointment of Ms. Dinara Djoldosheva as its new Country Representative for Lesotho, effective beginning of this month.

Based in Maseru, she is set to lead initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and development in the region.

A Kyrgyz national, Djoldosheva has been with the World Bank since 1998, taking on critical roles that showcase her deep expertise in international development. Her most recent position was Country Program Coordinator and Senior Operations Officer for Nigeria, where she spearheaded various projects to enhance economic stability.

Djoldosheva also served as Country Program Coordinator for Indonesia and managed portfolios across several Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Her rich background in both government and academia, complemented by a PhD in Political Economy from Sankt Petersburg University, equips her with a unique perspective on the challenges facing transition economies.

With a commitment to advancing Lesotho’s development agenda, Djoldosheva aims to leverage her vast experience to strengthen the World Bank’s engagement and support for the nation. Her leadership is anticipated to usher in a new era of collaboration and progress for Lesotho.
