Local artist Thabe Letsie, aka Ntate Stunna, has outlined plans to add oomph to the already much-loved concert known in entertainment circles as ‘Sesotho Fashioneng’.

Scheduled for December 28, 2024, the event promises to be a showcase of Sesotho culture, marking a significant milestone in the preservation of local heritage as the Basotho celebrate 200 years.

Addressing the media yesterday, Ntate Stunna emphasized that this is not just an event; it is an international come-see show aimed at uniting Basotho.

“We don’t have a template for this event,” he remarked, highlighting the unique nature of the celebration.

The goal is clear: to prevent foreign cultural dominance and foster a sense of pride in Sesotho identity.

Stunna assured revellers that this event will be the largest ever organised in Lesotho, serving not only as an expo for local talent, but also as a platform to empower emerging artists.

To ensure the event’s success, Ntate Stunna revealed his collaboration with prominent sponsors, including KFC and Avani Hotel and Resorts. The partnership aims to provide the necessary support to bring this ambitious vision to life.

The event will evoke the spirit of unity and pride among Basotho, enclosed in the slogan #ha re eng Maseru, which translates to “Let’s unite Maseru.”

Berry Matseletsele, known as Lasberry and Ntate Stunna’s artist manager, echoed his involvement, stating that Stunna’s ambitions extend beyond music into creating opportunities that will set standards for future generations.

“The success of this event will reflect the growth of this artist and our community,” he added.

For those eager to stay updated, a dedicated Facebook page, Sesotho Fashioneng, has been established to provide details and ticket information. Tickets are already on sale, with ongoing discussions for additional sponsorships to bolster the event’s reach and impact.

Trymore Machimo, the General Manager of KFC, expressed his company’s commitment to supporting the programme, highlighting the innovation and originality it embodies.

“Partnering with Ntate Stunna has been on a glorious journey,” Machimo remarked, highlighting the positive influence Stunna has on young artists in the country.

KFC’s involvement is a testament to the trans-formative power of music and culture. As expectation builds for this landmark event, the message is clear that Sesotho Fashioneng is set to become a defining moment in the celebration of Basotho culture, promising a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
