27 years in to democracy and we as a country are still a work in progress, we still working to fix the injustices of the past, we have come a long way as a country in fixing certain aspects but there is one aspect that is least talked about and that’s the role apartheid played in our homes. Men played a huge role during apartheid regardless of race, young boys were forced to join the army, while others were in exile, fathers left their homes to look for a better life for their families but just how deep did this disconnect between men and their families run?
